You retain ownership of the content you upload (photos, bio, prompts, etc.). By uploading content, you grant Treehouse a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content for the purpose of operating and improving the App.
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable, without notice.
We are not obligated to monitor user content but reserve the right to do so.
We do not guarantee that you will find a compatible roommate. Matching is based on preferences and algorithms, but compatibility is not guaranteed.
You are solely responsible for:
We do NOT conduct background checks, criminal record checks, or verify user identities. You should conduct your own due diligence.
When meeting potential roommates:

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRIOR TO THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE LIABILITY. BECAUSE THE APP IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE, THIS MEANS OUR LIABILITY TO YOU IS LIMITED TO ZERO DOLLARS ($0).
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Treehouse and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

The App, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by Treehouse and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Before initiating any formal dispute resolution process, you agree to first contact us at treehouseofficialteam@gmail.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. Both parties agree to negotiate in good faith for a period of at least thirty (30) days before proceeding to arbitration or litigation.
If the dispute cannot be resolved through informal negotiations, you agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved by binding arbitration conducted in Cook County, Illinois, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA).
The arbitration shall be conducted by a single arbitrator mutually agreed upon by both parties, or if the parties cannot agree, appointed in accordance with AAA rules. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding, and judgment may be entered upon it in any court of competent jurisdiction.
If arbitration fees are deemed excessive by the arbitrator, we agree to pay such fees to ensure the dispute resolution process remains accessible to you.
Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent the actual or threatened infringement, misappropriation, or violation of a party's intellectual property rights.
YOU AGREE THAT ANY ARBITRATION OR PROCEEDING SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE DISPUTE BETWEEN YOU AND TREEHOUSE INDIVIDUALLY. TO THE FULL EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
If for any reason a claim proceeds in court rather than through arbitration, both you and Treehouse agree to submit to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois. You hereby waive any objection to venue in such courts.
Any claim or cause of action arising out of or related to your use of the App or these Terms must be filed within one (1) year after such claim or cause of action arose, or it will be forever barred, regardless of any statute or law to the contrary.
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Treehouse regarding use of the App.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right.
You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign these Terms at any time.
These Terms do not create any third-party beneficiary rights.
